Mokume Gane Lavaliere & Earrings
Fabricated using the old Japanese metalsmithing art of Mokume Gane, which means wood fleck metal. Metal is forged and diffusion-bonded with 19 alternating layers of 18k rose gold and Shakudo (a intermingling of 22k gold and copper), producing a well off warm reddish tone with stray darker pattern. Front side is bead blasted to a satin devour, back is solid 14k gold polished to a reflect finish. 14k gold ear wires on earrings. This pendant has been etched with a delicate specimen, and formed into a hollow domed sculpture approximately 3/4 inches in diameter. Bronze patina on the front brings out the detail.
